Applied Behavioral Concepts welcomes
employees with degrees and experience from a wide variety of care giving fields.
Our employees are dedicated to providing a high quality of service to children
with a disability.
We are pleased to offer the services of our caring and talented staff. Each therapist
instructs the children in our care with the tender and loving heart our parents
appreciate and utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis effectively
to enhance the lives of their charges. All employees have fulfilled the Department of Human Resources requirements for employment in a child care facility (includes background references, criminal history, medical examinations).
Employees undergo initial training in the principles of applied behavior analysis with supervised “hands on” instruction and periodic video reviews to insure the quality of services provided.
Ms. Ariela Angjeliu
is currently working on a Bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in sociology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Delta Honor society. In her native country Albania, she used to volunteer with the Red Cross and traumatized children from the war in Kosovo. After graduation she plans on going to graduate school to work on her Masters and later on her PH.D in Developmental psychology.
Ms. Crystal Baker
is a recent graduate from Athens State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Behavioral Science. She is a volunteer for the Big Brothers and Sisters organization of North Alabama. She works closely with youth as a teen Sunday School teacher. She also volunteer with the Red Cross. She also has the opportunity to work with clients with different disorders in a hospital setting.
Ms. Susan Banks
is a recent graduate from UAH having obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy. She has experience working with children through the /Mental Health Center and UAH as psychological test administrator. She also has worked closely caring for clients with Alzheimer's Disease, MR, and other similar conditions requiring close attention in a California assisted living facility and group home. Trained at the Crisis Services Center of North Alabama and working as Helpline volunteer. Ms. Banks returns to UAH to complete a masters degree in Psychology.
Ms. Marissa Baugher
is a recent graduate from UAH with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. She is a member of the Psychological, Sociological and Academic Honor Societies. Her experience with children has been mainly as a volunteer in her church helping with Children's Church, Youth Church as well as being the co-director of the youth program with her husband.
Mr. Rob Blackwell
brings considerable experience to Applied Behavioral Concepts as our business manager. He has served as a management consultant for various firms, as well as Managing Director and Administrator in the assisted living industry. In addition to his management experience, he owned and operated two local restaurants. He is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama in Huntsville pursuing a degree in sociology.
Ms. Madison Brooks
is currently working on a Bachelors degree in psychology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She spent the summer of 2005 working one on one with a child with autism in his home and preschool, before joining Applied Behavioral Concepts in 2007. After graduation from UAH, she plans to pursue her Masters and certification as an Associate Behavior Analyst. Read more about Madison in the Carol's Kids News, March 2008, V2(2).
Ms. Morgan Brooks
is a native of Huntsville and graduated from Buckhorn High School in 2007. Currently, she is attending the University of Montevallo pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, with the eventual goal of entering the field of genetic research. She also plays soccer for the Montevallo Falcons and has assisted in running several soccer camps for preschool aged children.
Ms. Lauren Burns
is a junior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. and is the captain of the UAH Women's soccer team. She is enrolled in the Elementary Education program with a focus in Psychology with a 4.0 GPA. Ms. Burns has worked in Applied Behavioral Concepts summer camp for the past two years serving as camp leader in 2008. She is a certified AYSO soccer referee and has served as an assistant soccer coach for U14 girls. After completing a master's degree, Ms. Burns plans to pursue board certification as a behavior analyst. See Carol's Kids News, July 2008, V2(6).
Ms. Kim Cantrell
holds a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Her experience in the field of Autism is personal. Ms. Cantrell is the mother of a child who has been diagnosed with Autism. Before beginning her own family, Ms. Cantrell gained practical experience working with adolescents at Three Springs, Inc. She plans to continue her education by enrolling in courses required to sit for

Ms. Lauren Davis (Returning to School, Camps Status)
is enrolled at the University of South Alabama Her studies concentrate in the areas of Spanish language and culture, as well as Psychology. She has worked with children for the past five years at Premier preschool as an assistant in multiple classrooms. She also worked last summer as a "nanny" for a six-year-old boy diagnosed with Autism. During that time she assisted him in his physical therapy as well as other educational activities such as reading, art projects, and Spanish language. After graduating she plans to pursue a career in counseling or secondary education.
Ms. Lydia Dyer
is a sophomore psychology major at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is in her third year as a teacher at the Alabama Youth Ballet. This summer she taught gross motor skills for ABC's summer camps. In high school Lydia trained at the Harid Conservatory, a pre-professional boarding school for ballet. She plans to pursue a career in Speech Pathology.
Ms. Maura Edwards , CCC-SLP (Consulting Status)
is a certified Speech Language pathologist holding a current Alabama license. She holds a Master's degree in Communication Disorders received in Albany, New York in 1980. Ms. Edwards moved to Alabama in 1993 . She holds a national certification of clinical competency from the American Speech-Language Association. She has 27 years experience including 17 years of private practice. Ms. Edwards is a Blue Cross Blue Shield approved provider and is seeking additional provider status upon request.
Mr. Jeff Fisher
is currently enrolled in the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is pursuing a degree in Education as well as obtaining the requirements for certification as an Associate Behavior Analyst. He has
worked with children with special needs for several years.
Ms. Jennie Frisby
graduated with a Bachelors degree in History with a minor in Communication Arts from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was a competitive softball player for thirteen years. Using her experience she has taught young girls how to pitch for several years. While in high school she worked with elementary school children to teach them French as an extension of the French program at Grissom High School.
Ms. Jessica Goetz (camps status)
is currently a junior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville majoring in Elementary Education. She will be qualified to teach kindergarten through sixth grade once she graduates in the Spring of 2010. She participated in show choir and color guard while in high school in Enterprise, AL where she graduated as valedictorian. She was a day care worker for a private day care nursery.
Ms. Pamela Hailey
is currently working on a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After graduating she plans to pursue a Masters Degree in counseling psychology. She has worked with children in recreational areas for several years, and also coaches athletes at the middle school level.
Mr. and Mrs. Jon and Whitnye Lolley (Consulting Status) Mrs. Lolley
holds a Masters of Gerontology Degree from the University of Louisiana
Monroe. She is a nationally featured fitness professional and
instructor working with Corporate Wellness, Senior Fitness and
Faith Based Wellness Ministries. She and her husband Jon have
started a local Wellness Consulting Business catering to various

Mr. Jon Lolley is a Clinical Exercise Specialist and Wellness
Counselor at Huntsville Hospital. He is a 20 year Martial Artist,
holding a national Championship. He is co-owner of Lolley Wellness
Consulting of Huntsville and currently teaches Yoga at the Marshal
Space and Flight Center and at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Jon
brings his expertise in Yoga to the summer program.
Ms. Juliette Masters
graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Communications from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was a competitive year round swimmer for thirteen years. Using this experience she taught swim lessons to children for several years. She has worked with special needs children (Autistic, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Sclerosis) for several years through her work at the Good Shepard Catholic Church Autism, CP and MS at the Good Shepard Catholic Church as well as a teacher for vacation Bible schools and choir camps. Mrs. Elizabeth Quarles
is a former therapist for Applied Behavioral Concepts home therapy program in 2000-2001.After returning to Huntsville Mrs. Quarles rejoined Applied Behavioral Concepts. Mrs. Quarles has been working as a paraprofessional in the Kansas public school system. Mrs. Quarles has a degree in Psychology and is the parent of two children.
Ms. Jesse Robinson
is a native of Huntsville. She earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was a member of the university's Model United Nations Club for two years. Ms. Robinson holds the rank of Shodan, or first degree Black Belt, from Alexander's Martial Arts. She taught children's martial arts classes for several years with Alexander's, and is still actively involved with the school. She has won state championships as an Underbelt and Black Belt, competing on the Alabama Karate Circuit in both the Forms and Sparring divisions. Ms. Robinson was also involved in softball, playing in summer leagues from grade school through high school. She intends to pursue a career in teaching.
Ms. Suzanne Roten
obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology and English from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Among her academic achievements are awards from the Scientific Undergraduate Psychological Research Convention, South East Psychological Society Convention and Sigma Xi Regional Research Convention. She is a member of Sigma Xi (Science), Sigma Tau Delta (English) and Psi Chi (Psychology) honor societies. She has experience with the America Reads program reaching high risk children. She has recently returned from Thailand where she taught English, including teaching at the Royal Palace School. Suzanne is currently enrolled in the required courses to obtain her board certification in Behavior Analysis. Read more about Suzanne in the Carol's Kids News, May 2007, V1(1).
Ms. Justine Seeley (Consulting Status)
is the owner and director of Colors Fine Arts in Madison. Ms. Seeley will be directing the musical portion of the weekly program. Ms. Seeley teaches piano to children either privately or group. Read more about Justine in the Carol's Kids News, March 2008, V2(2).
Ms. Nudrat Siddiqui
is originally from Pakistan. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). During her time at UAH she was a member of a research lab for 2 years and administered various intelligence and achievement tests to participants from introductory psychology classes. Nudrat volunteered for a few months at a kindergarten in Pakistan and loves working with children. She is interested in the academic study of Autism and plans to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology.
Ms. Monica Smart
obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in December 2007. She is proud to have been a member of a UAH research team for two years in which she administered a variety of intelligence and achievement tests to college students. The lab was invited to present the team findings in a poster on several different research projects. The work will be presented to the Association for Psychological Science Convention in Chicago, Illinois this summer. Ms. Smart has many years experience with children as child care provider for numerous families and enjoys working with children. She is interested in continuing her education and specializing in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology.
Ms. Emily Stookey
joins Applied Behavioral Concepts from Mississippi State University. Ms. Stookey is defending her Masters thesis ("Skin Picking: Just Scratching the Surface") in Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the National Association of Psychometrics and sits on the NAP Board of Directors. Ms. Stookey is licensed in Psychometrics and will be conducting assessments for evaluations in addition to working with children as a therapist. Ms. Tracey Sykes (Consulting status)
has earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has earned a reputation locally as an artist and was the creator of the "Wall of Remembrance" in Decatur, Alabama. She has several other mural projects completed and continues various projects in the Morgan County Community. Ms. Sykes has been involved with children with disabilities for nearly five years. She has numerous credits in other areas of mental illness and disease as a board member for the Morgan County and a member of the Invisible Children in Huntsville, Alabama. Tracey will be pursuing her master's degree in Art Therapy at Naropa University of Boulder, Colorado. Read more about Tracey in the Carol's Kids News, June 2007, V1(2).
Ms. Carol Vancil
is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. She received a Masters Degree in Experimental Psychology on a Developmental Psychology track focusing all of her research on children. She began working in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis in 1997. While ABA was not recognized in the state of Alabama, when courses became available she pursued certification through the University of North Texas receiving a Graduate Academic Certificate with a 4.0 GPA. Her mentor was the late Michael Hemmingway along with Dr. Bob James at UAH. She is a member of the Alabama Psychological Association and the Alabama Association of Behavior Analysts.
Camp support staff
include Michael, Brad, Matt, Keenan and Brennan, local youths experienced in working with young children. These local high school students attend Sparkman High School and are active in church related, recreational and scholastic athletics. We appreciate the energy, enthusiasm and care they provide our clients. During the school session, they may be available for respite care. Clients are welcome to contact Applied Behavioral Concepts if you would like to schedule periodic services for family respite. As all of our regular staff, these employees have completed the requirements of the Department of Human Resources reference, medical and background checks.
