Company Profile
Applied Behavioral Concepts was founded in 2000 and
operates in Huntsville, Alabama. Our behavioral intervention services are
provided under the constant supervision of a board certified Behavior Analyst,
our Founder and Director. In
addition, we contract services from an experienced Speech and Language
Pathologist, a Psychologist, Special Education Teacher and utilize other resources in our community.
Our emphasis is utilizing the scientifically proven techniques as taken from the
research.
We are able to integrate a variety of therapy options
depending on the functional level of the individual child to meet developmental
goals. Our staff implements techniques proven to be effective strategies
for children with developmental delays. Applied Behavioral Concepts offers a unique blending of discrete
trials, inclusion and incidental teaching strategies based on findings from
testing upon program intake (ABLLS, DOCS, DAYC) to match the deficits of each
child.
Through our unique cooperative effort
with the Premier Schools of Madison and Huntsville, all
children are introduced into a variety of interactions with typical peers to
develop skills needed to function in a typical school setting. Our teacher
to student ratio follows the recommended guidelines of 1:1 or 1:2 depending upon
the child and the amount of behavioral support needed.
One of the services that sets us apart is our
incorporation of typical peers and the typical preschool environment. Our
clients are embedded with their peers to develop social interaction, appropriate
play and to generalize skills. The Premier Schools service children
through the first grade and implements curriculum which exceeds the guidelines
of the Alabama State Board of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools and has received SACS accreditation.
Applied Behavioral Concepts offers
services in the all settings including the home. Training is provided to
families and others, including other professionals working with your child.
